Frances Pearl Jenkins Davis, 89, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2011.

Pearl was born February 22, 1922 in Littleton, one of twelve children of the late Henry Harvey and Frances Wilson Jenkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Woodrow Davis, and her son, Harvey Elbert Davis. Mrs. Davis was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from J. P. Stevens Company with 30 years of service.

Pearl is survived by her three daughters, Frances Jean Zieverink and her husband, Bill, of Atlantic Beach, NC, Mary Lou Jarman and her husband, Gray, of Roanoke Rapids, and Christine Dickens and her husband, Sammy, of Littleton; eight grandchildren, Brian Zieverink and his wife, Amy, Kevin Zieverink and his wife, Patricia, Elizabeth Jarman Crawley, Graham Jarman, Frances Jarman, Paul Dickens and his wife, Allison, Sarah Dickens, and Donna Kellogg; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, April 9, from 12 noon until 12:45. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Dave Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
